We’re a small charity with a big heart and a big vision

since 1985

Because you matter…

“You matter because you are you, and you matter to the end of your life. We will do all we can, not only to help you die peacefully, but also to live until you die.”

Support our service
with a gift in your Will

We’re so proud to be joining a coalition of 143 hospices across England, Scotland and Wales to protect the future of all kinds of hospice care, ours included.

Uniquely, our ‘Sidmouth Model’ of hospice care means that this specialist clinical, psychological, social and spiritual support is provided to patients 24/7, in the comfort of their own home, for free.

In the vast majority of cases, hospice care services are only ever partly supported by statutory funding – and in our case currently, not at all. We remain a hospice service funded entirely by the community, for the community.

Gifts in Wills fund over 50% of our care, providing surety of service for future generations across our community. Ultimately, a Will allows you to support the people, and causes, that matter most. We have partnered with award winning provider, Farewill, to enable our supporters to put simple plans in place and take the opportunity to leave a lasting legacy. Every gift matters. Thank you for your support.

We also need
your help…

Funded entirely by donations and solely reliant upon the generosity of the local community, we have been providing outstanding care to residents of the Sid Valley, their families, and carers since our origin in 1985.

Testimonials

what people say about our care

It’s impossible to overstate their emotional support; it’s meant so much to me to be able to talk to people who understand what you’re going through, and be able to say to them, ‘I’m feeling really stressed today and finding things really difficult’, and they are there for you.”

Patient’s Spouse

Peter told Mary, ‘you’ve been looking after my body, but also my mind’. This was hugely significant to him, because he was a very intelligent man, so mental engagement was as important to him as physical support.
“I found things difficult as things progressed, but the nurses looked after me too.

Patient’s Spouse

“Knowing the nurses are there means everything to me. They’re a lifeline. They’ve really improved my quality of life. They have come out in the night when I’ve needed them, and they are a much-needed link with my GP arranging extra pain relief if needed, taking the stress away from me.”
